TacView is an aircraft mission display and computing system from CMC Electronics. It combines a crew display with processing and aircraft interfaces for transport, patrol, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR), and other tactical missions. CMC’s current product material uses the TacView name; its earlier TacView+ brochure describes a generation combining electronic flight bag and mission-computer functions. Mission information in the cockpit
CMC describes TacView as an extension of the aircraft’s mission architecture, with permanent or semi-permanent cockpit integration. Published functions include tactical data-link support, secure data hosting and a night-vision-compatible interface. The company also identifies encryption and zeroize functions for managing sensitive information. These capabilities depend on the selected system configuration and its integration with the aircraft. For aircrew, the display brings mission information into a cockpit interface designed around aviation use. The current brochure identifies C-130J, C-17, CMV-22 and C-27J aircraft in the product’s platform heritage. Those references describe CMC’s documented experience; they do not establish an identical fit across every aircraft in those fleets. Current manufacturer brochure.
TacView+ display and aircraft interfaces
The brochure hosted in CMC’s February 2025 directory specifies an 8.4-inch TacView+ display, touchscreen and keyboard controls, and a maximum display-unit weight of 1.75 kg. It lists document viewing, aircraft performance information, moving maps and tactical overlays among the supported uses.
An Expansion Module Unit (EMU) provides aircraft connectivity. The same brochure lists ARINC 429, MIL-STD-1553B, serial, discrete and video interfaces for the EMU, alongside Ethernet and USB connectivity. These dated specifications describe the published TacView+ configuration; the brochure states that specifications may change. TacView+ specifications.
