Mission Ready Water is BluMetric Environmental’s offering for military water treatment and support. It spans equipment for deployed land forces, shipboard installations and wastewater management. Different systems serve different operating environments; the name covers a portfolio rather than one standard water-purification unit. Military water portfolio.
ASUWPS: water at sub-unit level
The Advanced Sub-Unit Water Purification System (ASUWPS) is a self-contained system developed through Rheinmetall Canada, the prime contractor for the CAF program. BluMetric’s original contract announcement described a smaller, lighter system than ROWPU, sized to provide potable water for 125–250 personnel. ASUWPS program announcement.
In May 2025, BluMetric received authorization to produce 26 treatment units, associated equipment and part of the cold-weather package under a contract valued at $12.2 million. The company said the first production unit had undergone road, cross-country and water-challenge testing. Its August 2026 results subsequently described the Rheinmetall project concluding. ROWPU: existing land-system support
Reverse Osmosis Water Purification Units remain the subject of a separate DND support agreement. BluMetric’s May 2025 contract covers refurbishment, field service, support and maintenance. An April 2026 extension added work that includes technical investigation and engineering studies. These announcements concern sustaining existing equipment while the AWSS replacement project develops. ROWPU agreement, 2026 extension.
SROD and maritime water treatment
Shipboard Reverse Osmosis Desalination systems provide a maritime counterpart to deployable land equipment. BluMetric describes its SROD units as self-contained, skid-mounted installations with automatic or manual operation and remote monitoring. Its published case study identifies manufacturing and support work for the Royal Canadian Navy. Shipboard water-treatment case study.
The wider maritime offering includes chlorine dosing, ultraviolet treatment and ballast-water treatment. BluMetric also lists mobile wastewater treatment among its land products, extending the portfolio beyond potable-water production. Land and maritime equipment.
AWSS: the proposed replacement
The Advanced Water Supply System is a DND project to replace and improve water production, storage and distribution. DND’s blueprint lists a $50 million–$99 million funding range, with implementation and initial delivery planned for fiscal 2027/2028. It also says requirements have yet to be defined. BluMetric and its partners announced their intention to bid in October 2026. Their proposed containerized system is a bid opportunity, not an awarded AWSS replacement fleet. Bid announcement, Anvil North’s AWSS report.
